User Guide for Noodletale’s Reading Tools
Reading a story on Noodletale is designed to be seamless. The built-in reading tools appear directly on story pages to help you navigate chapters, bookmark your exact paragraph, and keep track of your favorite stories.
Quick Overview of Tools
- Chapters: Opens a list of available chapters to jump around.
- Bookmark: Saves a specific paragraph where you stopped.
- Save Story: Adds the current story to your personal saved list.
- Saved Stories: Displays your collection of saved reads.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Chapters
Use Chapters to instantly jump to any part of the story.
- Click Chapters.
- Browse the list of chapter headings that appear.
- Click any chapter name to jump straight to that section.
Note: If a story only contains a single chapter, this button may not appear.
2. Bookmark
Use Bookmark to save the exact paragraph you want to return to later.
- Click Bookmark (the button will change to Select paragraph mode).
- Click the specific paragraph you want to save.
- The paragraph will automatically highlight, and your progress is saved.
Note: To return to your saved spot later, click the Bookmark button again. To remove a bookmark, click the Remove Bookmark button that appears near the highlighted text.
3. Save Story
Use Save Story to keep track of stories you want to read again.
- Click Save Story to add it to your collection.
- Click Save Story a second time to remove it from the list.
Note: If you add a bookmark to a story first, it will also automatically be added to your Saved Stories list!
4. Saved Stories
Use Saved Stories to access your personal reading library.
- Click Saved Stories to view your saved list.
- Click any story title to open it.
Note: If that story has an active bookmark, it will automatically open right at your saved spot. You can also remove any story from the list using the small remove button next to it.
Important Storage Notes
- Browser Storage: All saved stories and bookmarks are stored securely directly in your web browser.
- Data Clearance: Please note that if you clear your browser data or cache, your saved stories and bookmarks may be reset.
